tom_kauf
Hi everyone, Tom here from the Australian Forums. I hope someone can help me, I've searched everywhere and had no luck. Does anyone know where the factory O2 sensor relay is located? I don't know if some things are mirror-imaged on our right-hand-drive cars. But the Parts Diagram says it is supposed to be here (top position of the relay stack on the LH side): http://i64.tinypic.com/3534jfb.jpg But when I check there, that position is blank (no connector or any wiring there at all). I don't see any relay of that size on RH side either. http://i65.tinypic.com/23k27uu.jpg

tom_kauf
Have you searched youtube or asked google ? BTW, I'm so jealous...SpecB wagon, lucky you. Yeah, I've spent many hours doing research. Different things come up, but very little for Gen4 Legacys/Libertys. I have the Service Manual as well, and looked at all the relevant wiring diagrams, and connector locations. This has led me to where I found this relay bank. But it's blank And thank you, it's a keeper

tom_kauf
I've burnt out my Innovate Motorsport Wideband O2 Sensor in less than 9months, probably because of shock cooling. This seems to be very common unfortunately. See below for a very interesting article on why these Bosch sensors last 60,000miles+ in stock applications, but fail much quicker in aftermarket installs. I had the relay control wire hooked up to the Ignition, but that was only because I couldn't find any circuit that only got power with the engine running. So now I'm looking to wire it up the factory O2 relay control wire. *Why Bosch Wide-band air/fuel ratio sensors fail so often in aftermarket applications* And yeah, the car runs fine and was stock when I bought it. So no one has removed anything as far as I know.
Max Capacity
While reading that, I remembered we had short life out those in the race car over 10 years back. Just had a thought, what does the STi use for controlling the heater on the O2 ? Is there any possibility researching that could help ? 305,600miles 5/2012 ej257 short block, 8/2011 installed VF52 turbo, @20.8psi, 280whp, 300ftlbs. (SOLD). CHECK your oil, these cars use it. tom_kauf
Ah ok, interesting. They probably use a Relay like most cars. But it'll be in a different location, so it may not help with finding ours.
