Ryman12
Hey guys, a while back I started looking around for a solution as to how to mount my new oil pressure gauge. Having the factory navigation unit, the oh so popular cubby hole location was out of the question. Additionally I felt that A pillar gauge pods are a bit too flashy for the legacy. So the next best place (and honestly my preferred mounting location) was on top of the steering column. Unfortunately, as many of us know, the aftermarket support for legacy items isnt quite as large as that of the impreza's, so I was not able to find a premade steering column pod. Oh well, Ill just make my own. In the past Ive made gauge pods before, but they were always wayyy too complicated and never turned out the way I envisioned them. So my motto for this one: keep it simple. In the end I think I achieved my goal. A nearly invisible gauge pod that consists of 2 pieces; a piece of kydex, and some 3M 5952 double sided tape. Let me know what you think. http://i65.tinypic.com/2eaqzjp.jpg http://i68.tinypic.com/2qjyjnn.jpg Later I could upload the drawing for the kydex piece if anyone is interested in making their own. freaksavior
I did something similar until I received my vent pod A buddy of mine is working on a column pod. It's not fancy, but it's functional. http://i.imgur.com/bgdpxA1.jpg http://i.imgur.com/VRIvqC3.jpg http://i.imgur.com/6hx9hL9.jpg Check page 46 for the other gauge pod I'm talking about
cseagle08
Perrin gauge pod (2 gauges) mounts up perfectly for the 4th gen legacy right on top of the steering column. I used to have it on my 2.5i years ago. I had an oil pressure gauge and volt meter (because non-turbo lol)
