mestizoracer310
So, recently installed a rebuilt motor with new genuine VVL solenoids. At idle, everything was fine. started driving and at first, the 0076 code popped up. immediately comes back after clearing w/ a scanguage2. after driving more, the second code... 0026 came up as well. also, comes back immediately after clearing the code. As part of their warranty stipulation, the engine rebuilder said in order for the motor to be covered, new VVL solenoids were required. I checked the "quick release" connector up on passenger side, and all grounds were nice and tight... any ideas?

MilesA
P0076 usually indicates a wiring issue such as open circuit or short circuit for the solenoid valve. P0026 is related and indicates cam position not as commanded. Suggest diagnosing the wiring issue P0076 first that may clear up the cam position issue P0026 when fixed. You can test the solenoid valve with a 9V battery, see that it opens with power applied. Wiring you can test if you have a multi-meter.
