Andy_Mac
So have a bit of a dilema again. Decided it was time to do the front CV boots before hey let go. Whiped them out and had a local Subaru specialist reboot them (couldn't get the boots for much less than they charged all up) Did all 4 boots at the same time, have now reinstalled them and found things aren't quite right. Seems for every full axle rotation there is a point where one of the axles wants to push or pull the transmission sideways. Will have another crack tonight with the axles in one at a time to see if that pinpoints one or the other. Anyone come across this before? 2000 Legacy B4 RSK - SOLD 2006 Legacy BP5 GT Spec B wagon - Garage Thread 2011 VW T5 van 2.0L of turbo diesel awesomeness
CapnJack
It looks like one of the joints is not assembled correctly inside the boot? It's almost like it was separated, one of the bearings popped off, and it's not allowing it to seat correctly.
Andy_Mac
Think so. Just showed the video to the guy who assembled it and he thought something similar so just going to pull that one back off and give it back to them for a look over. 2000 Legacy B4 RSK - SOLD 2006 Legacy BP5 GT Spec B wagon - Garage Thread 2011 VW T5 van 2.0L of turbo diesel awesomeness
Andy_Mac
Sorted. Somehow one of the bearings had fallen off when being assembled so was just floating around inside the cup. 2000 Legacy B4 RSK - SOLD 2006 Legacy BP5 GT Spec B wagon - Garage Thread 2011 VW T5 van 2.0L of turbo diesel awesomeness
