Oglesby47
Hey guys I have a 1999 subaru legacy 2.2l SOHC, im currently replacing my timing belt. The issue im having is that one of my cam pullys does not have that plastic trim in the back with the timing mark. what do I do from here?
Brighton96
If you're missing the plastic dust shield that has the timing mark on it, the right thing to do is to get a new one and install it. But you can also eyeball it and use the belts timing marks to help make sure its right, the timing mark should be exactly at the 12 o clock position. Setnev
I'll take a look at my EJ222 because I believe the mark lines up to a point on the block, but let me make sure first. EDIT: I was correct, the timing mark lines up perfectly with the valve cover. This is the exact engine in your car. I have a 99 EJ22 sitting on my engine stand http://i.imgur.com/dxMb2MC.jpg
