spect2k
I agree in using torque wrenches as a general rule. But I believe in using common sense even more. I'd suggest tightening it up nice and snug and walking away. When tightening it factory spec with a torque wrench, it felt overtight and one stripped out. I nutted it and did the other three by feel. Not the end of the world.
XT-sub
As already mentioned I wouldn’t torque the clamp bolts to 28ft/lb. IMO a torque figure of 28ft/lb after these bolts have been undone once is too high a figure with a risk of stripping even if re-fitted correctly (been there done that with an accurate torque wrench). I use the torque figures for the SJ Forester which uses the same rear swaybar setup as the current model Liberty/Legacy/Outback: M8 clamp bolts: 22ft/lb. M10 end link stud to swaybar nuts: 28ft/lb. rednation1
Thanks for all of the help, I appreciate it a lot! Like I said, I have an Outback but they are pretty much the same. I just tightened them by hand, they do feel like they can strip easy. But the Outback feels a lot better now, tested them on 3 consecutive roundabouts.
