Spastic
Hey everyone I'm currently in the market for a new vehicle. Previously owned hondas/acuras but after an oil pump failure, I'm changing it up. I've decided that I want a subaru, specifically a wagon (cargo space). As I'm new to Subaru, I'm looking for any useful info. I'm looking at between a '97 to '02 with a 5 speed. Is there a mileage limit (where things go horrible) or any other things to look out for, or to look for when purchasing? I'm needing a reliable vehicle and I'm trying to do my research. Thanks everyone.
Max Capacity
Buy a 2000' plus model year. I had a 98 GT wagon, bought it new, a buddy test drove a 00 and told me it was really nice and had 160 improvements over the 98'. I went a test drove a 2000. I could feel the difference before I drove the car 25ft. It was parked on a dirt hill at the dealership. I traded in the 98' on the spot. Read through the 3rd Gen forum for issues. 305,600miles 5/2012 ej257 short block, 8/2011 installed VF52 turbo, @20.8psi, 280whp, 300ftlbs. (SOLD). CHECK your oil, these cars use it.
