rumbleintheboxer
Anyone been through this before.. seems the body twist may have sheared the head off and I see no threads to grab on to or weld a nut to it. http://imageshack.com/a/img923/4230/v4B8fe.jpg
Das Ninjabot
Looks like you may have to use an extractor or drill that one out. I'd clean that area well and spray some penetrant on it and let it sit for awhile before heating it up and then using an extractor.
doublechaz
You mean the female threads are full of the broken off male threads evenly, right? If you meant you have a hole with no female threads then the welded backside nut broke off and no one did anything to fix it, just use a nut and bolt. But you probably meant you need to drill a hole and use an extractor.
rumbleintheboxer
Yeah exactly, the female threads sheared flush. No female threads showing. I may have to pull the plate completely off but I'll need to remove that stud so I can find the thread pitch, and I'm worried I'll snap the others in the process. If anyone is wondering why there is so much grease, it came from an exploded cv joint I've since replaced. Thanks guys, this is more of a money pit than both my Cherokees, and jeep stands for just empty every pocket! Will update soon.
Setnev
On my jack plate, there is actually 2 nuts on the other side of the crossmember where your bolt broke.
