Jaybird2013 Posted March 1, 2017 Share Posted March 1, 2017 Alright Guys, I couldn't quite find the similar noise that I believe is coming from my transmission during my research. Think it's been going on for about a week. In 3rd gear at about 3k rpm's/ 40 mph when I roll out of the throttle and gently get back in I'm hearing what sounds like a vibration of some sort. It goes away with more throttle input and is not present upon decel. I can replicate it in 4th gear same situation. Outside of this noise in this range there is no indication of a problem, Tranny shifts very smoothly. looking to change the transmission fluid with the Motul and redline LW shockproof as a starting point, but wanted to get some of you transmission guys opinions. The rundown: as far as I know it's the original tranny with 145K. Transmission and rear diff fluids changed out during my rebuild approximately 28k miles ago. Max Capacity Posted March 6, 2017 Share Posted March 6, 2017 Check the carrier bearing in the propeller shaft. 305,600miles 5/2012 ej257 short block, 8/2011 installed VF52 turbo, @20.8psi, 280whp, 300ftlbs.
