spect2k Posted July 25, 2017 Share Posted July 25, 2017 Yes. It's not a safety issue. The backing plates get loose. They can be tightened, but will loosen again. alewis220 Posted July 26, 2017 Share Posted July 26, 2017 Pads clacking in reverse or even from reverse to drive is normal. I first noticed this sound in my 2012 Camry but only if the pads wore down to around 50 percent, when the pads were newer it didn't do it. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
