Water on the strut tower?

Recommended Posts

Well it wasn't pouring out side so I got some time to look at what could cause this. The two end seals (passenger and driver side) are not sealing against the glass and were deformed. I can see a direct path from them to the strut tower. They locate by two pins on the center cowl cover and wedge against the fender and glass in the corners. I ordered two new ones. Will up date when I install them

Would you happen to have the part numbers in your order ?

After confirming that I had no gaps in wheel wells I went and got a car wash.

I noticed that I had water under the hood on top of both struts and that the cowl seal was wet on face surface of seal.

Thinking of replacing or adding to cowl seal. This must be an issue from factory either via install or most likely poor or inadequate seal.

I paid $16.32 each and about $10 to ship.

I hope they fit better. They are EPDM (as molded into them) and they may just weather and deform over time and temperature.

I'll look into getting these also. My concern is that they may just be the same improper designed and improper fitting oem part. Thanks.

Me too. I decided to throw $42 at it to find out.

Don't feel bad I spent $350 on the driver side front strut replacement only to find the crunch noise although less is still prevalent when going over speed bumps.
