tompaul
Hi All, I am new to the tuner world, though this is 5th Legacy wagon. This one is an '05 LGT MT thats shows 385 HP at the wheels on the dyno. The engine is about 15k miles old. It had 12k on it when I bought it, so I am told. I assume the clutch was new at the time the engine was done, but it has recently started to slip if I light up the turbo at all. The previous owner says it is a stage 3 competition clutch, but doesn't know more than that. My local shop wants me to provide the parts for them to put in, so I need to know a good clutch package to buy. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance. Mike07LGT
Take a look at southbend clutches. They are gaining popularity in the subaru world. I had a stage 1 on my legacy and it was really nice. 03 WRB WRX (RIP) 04 JBP STI (sold) 07 DGM Legacy GT (RIP) 12 OBP STI (DD)
tocinoman25
+1 on southbend clutch 1 and half years and about 12k miles so far...PS isn't clutches rated for torque rather than HP? chhrisd
^yeah make sure you are making your decision based on your car's torque, not HP. Running a south bend stage 2 daily wrx clutch, can also recommend the brand. feels very similarly to stock pedal feel, and engagement easy enough for city driving.
