whitrzac Posted December 4, 2016 Share Posted December 4, 2016 I had a coil pack fail when I was ~60+ miles from home. Happened just after a 3/4 throttle pull onto a highway. Engine started misfiring and I suspected the worst. It was violently shaking at idle and under load when <3k rpm. Above 3k it was ok. Got home, inspected injector, plug and put a borscope in the cylinder. No visible damage. Moved coil to another cylinder, problem followed the coil. No random misfires, no other warning. I think you have a bad coil. 305,600miles 5/2012 ej257 short block, 8/2011 installed VF52 turbo, @20.8psi, 280whp, 300ftlbs. (SOLD). CHECK your oil, these cars use it.
