rjrdgo
Hi folks: I'm new to the forum, but my 2006 Outback 2.5 XT is our fifth Subaru. Yesterday, my seat heaters stopped working, both sides. The fuse is OK and my manual suggests there is a relay for the heaters, but I can't identify one. The small indicator light is out on both sides of the switch. There is power to the upper spade terminal for the seat fuse. Any ideas if there is a relay (and where) or what else might be wrong. Thanks. bluesuby
Please let me know what answers you get. The heaters on my 2005 Legacy GT have been out, and if it's a relay I'd sure like to know if that fixes you up.
rjrdgo
OK - I just looked through my manual again and it shows a relay for the seat heater off fuse number 6, so I think there is a relay, probably one of the several just to the right of the interior fuse panel, but I'm not sure. Hopefully someone will have a better idea.

dride24
Factory manual suggests testing continuity at the heat pad connector and replacing pads if it is lacking.

If that's the problem I'm not doing anything....doesn't get that cold here.
rjrdgo
Both my driver and passenger-side stopped working at the same time, so a seat heating element is probably unlikely. I'd still love to know where the relay is located.
