Finally diagnosed a dead solenoid (12vdc = no action). Boo. Would any other car's EGR solenoid fit this one? 1995 Legaci LSi 2.2 liter That part seems mighty spendy for a tiny solenoid, at almost 100 bucks on partsgeek! They 'should' be the same for that electronic piece on all '95-'98 2.2 and 2.5 Subarus - Impreza, Legacy, Forester. New ones were 100, used were down to around 30 shipped. Ok... So I found a 98 Impreza and yes! My part. Waited in the long line and could not believe I had to pay a whopping $3.85! Got the part home and it even tested good - clicks on 12vdc - yes! Thanks for the tip! Now I'm sitting in the smog test waiting room with all my fingers crossed...
