Stevh0 Posted July 28, 2016 Share Posted July 28, 2016 My cubby had been butchered by the previous owner who fitted a parrot and a gps in there. From far it looked alright, but upclose it made me gag. Anyhow, I ripped all of it out and Ill remove the rear cubby too. unfortunaly the owner ripped the lid off, otherwise I might have kept it oem and gone with an AVO kit. So, Im going to mount a single din in there and "borrow" power from the oringal headunit. I plan on either splicing the power / ignition cable to my single din. I'm also going to be cutting my OEM speakers off from the harness and relocated their wires to the amplifier, which I'm not sure where I'm going to mount. Just makes it easier than running new wires to the doors and the bonus is I can always return to stock down the line. So my question: Anybody see anything wrong with splicing the OEM wires for power - or should I just cut the power completely from the OEM unit? (I won't be using it ) Unless of course, it interferes with the climate control below it. Man this sounds so quick and painless... I bet its going to take up my whole Saturday. I got a good speaker wiring layout online and I just really connected the wires and disconnecting the parrot. There's a small slot that fills up the extra space except it's at the bottom. I found the exact part before but now I can't anymore. Does anyone have that link?
