Cosworth Longblock Turbo Options

Recommended Posts

Soooooooooo...

I've recently acquired a 8.2 CR cosworth-internal'd longblock with KK3670 big port heads. It has a custom rotated EWG exhaust setup, and was running a twin scroll GT35R turbo. I know the heads on this engine aren't ideal for low-end grunt, but I'm going to run it anyway because - how could I not?

I'm diving into research looking into smaller turbos to keep the setup less painful out at autocross (~20 psi by 3000 RPM), but don't want to go so small that it'll fall on its face at the 8000 RPM redline . I'd ideally stick with Garrett so it's drop in fitment with the exhuast I have, but am open to other options.

I'll generally take improvements in transient response & spool over a couple whp. It'll be run on Canadian 91 Octane (according to many, more like 89 US) with a meth injection system

My initial thought is a GTX3076R with the .83 twinscroll hotside - thoughts? Numerical data is appreciated.

You should ask this question to a great Tuner like http://www.tuningalliance.com email Mike and ask him

Mike at http://www.AZPinstalls.com may have good input too.
