whiteknight24
I recently bought new rims and tires for my 09 legacy. I purchased XXR 18x8.75 +35 rims and 225/40R18 Michelin tires. I hear rubbing when I go over a bump in the rear. I read around and heard people roll the fenders to get rid of this, but then I hear from mechanics that rolling causes the paint to crack around the wheel well. How do roll fenders without cracking the paint? Or what other options do I have besides rolling the fenders?? thanks!
fedaykin
Install wheels that don't stick out as much. When rolling guards, the paint around the work area should be heated with a heat gun. This stops the paint from cracking (I've rolled the couple of cars' guards myself, it's easy once you get the hang of it).
fotofan
Yeah, just heat it up a little and don't overdo it. These fenders roll fairly well if you take your time. Either get somebody to do it for ya, or else you can buy a cheap roller off Tire Rack. I put something here like all the cool people, except there's nothing cool to put here. housemusic1
Get an Eastwood roller, watch some videos on YouTube, and take your time.
fotofan
The Eastwood and Tire Rack rollers are the same rebranded thing, I believe. I put something here like all the cool people, except there's nothing cool to put here.
