bronatha Posted May 2, 2016 Share Posted May 2, 2016 I have a 2002 legacy 2.5 auto that needs a motor, I found a donor motor from a 2003 impreza manual. will the motor from the impreza bolt up to my auto trans or do i need the transmission with the motor from the impreza? GEE-OTTO Posted May 2, 2016 Share Posted May 2, 2016 If they are both EJ251's all you would need to do is swap the bad engine's accessories over to the donor as the auto has slightly different cam gears than the manual config. TO be safe I would swap the the entire timing set (gears, crank and cam sensors, balancer) the starter as well. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
