Motor for suabru legacy

Recommended Posts

Just find a good used motor with as little miles as you can. Replace the headgaskets, and seals such as cam and crank, etc. New timing belt and water pump... Thats what i did when i got my 93 5 years ago. Ended up needing a motor, i hoped online and found one, it was like $750 with shipping. I left the pistons in, but replaced all the seals, headgaskets and such, new plugs, etc..... and has been prefect for 50,000 miles now.... But Im also a professional mechanic, i do this stuff everyday... so it also depends on your mechanical ability..

My father was a Honda mechanic for about 30 years. However, things change every year and sometimes Honda would make things more difficult.

I'm pretty sure that compared to my 08, my 94 is pretty easy to work on!

I think they're easy to work on and older ones are easier to work on. Head gaskets are do-able without pulling the motor if theyre SOHC. Once you learn one, you can relate to newer ones, there's just more devices attached. Parts interchange like legos, you could drop the 08 motor in your 94 if you wanted.
