GTEASER
I think EnviroSafe makes a refridgerant that's compatable with both R12 and R134 so you can use it versus converting all your seals and compressor. mnstrmech
I may get flamed... I dont care... Im ASE certified.... but i simply changed the reciever drier on mine and charged with R134, minus 20% of the system capacity.. and been going strong and cold for over 3 years... still have the original compressor. The center temp vent gets into low 40's.. sometimes upper 30's, degrees that is. Changing out all the seals and compressor is not necessary as once believed... wayne1998
I was planning on the same, keep everything original and just add R134. I just need to change the fittings is that correct??? Do I need to change the drier? If so why? Thanks
mnstrmech
The receiver/drier has a desiccant bag that holds oil that filters out the moisture inside the system... so changing out freon you would change the drier as well.... pouring in oil for 134 refrigerant... then both fittings... and important... only charge 80% of system capacity...
