Plus5HP
I recently got some body work done to my 2008 Legacy GT. I was involved in an accident a while back resulting in the replacement of the front bumper, driver's side fender, and both doors. It states that I must wait at least 90 days before waxing the replaced parts but nothing about washing the car in general. Any feedback is appreciated! Thanks. anti
I remember mostly leaving mine alone after the front was painted, maybe only a couple washes. I think occasionally washing it carefully should be okay. You don't want to wax it because wax seals the paint and it needs to off-gas as it fully hardens. FJuan
Washing is fine after 2 weeks, just use standard car soap without wax. Waiting 90 days after paint is normal before waxing. My wife's balls are delicious.
coldsoda
stick to hand washing, avoid power washing - that's what I have heard from previous body shops. I would hand wash for the 90 days if it were me.
RacerX69
Until the paint us fully cured it will be soft, and can be easily damaged. Keeping it clean will prevent dust, pollen, etc. from getting pushed into the uncured paint. Just use a mild car wash soap (without wax), and a soft wash mit or sponge. Rinse the surface well with water before washing it.
