Maybe it's just me but I've looked and wanted to find a thread or sticky with all the recommended fluids for the 05-09s and came up empty handed. Would it appeal to anyone else to have them all in one place??

I think this is very subjective, but here's my .02.

Oil - I run the cheapest name brand conventional 5w-30 I can find. My car consumes 1qt-2qt's of oil every 4k-5k, and synthetic top off oil would get expensive. Plus, my non-turbo subie isn't very hard on oil, and doesn't really need synthetic. If I had a LGT, I would run a synthetic 5w-30 or 5w-40, any brand. I like Pennzoil platinum, but if money is of no concern, I'd go with Red Line or Amsoil.

Transmission - In my 5MT I've tried various transmission fluids, but Red Line 75w-90NS is my favorite.

Differentials - My 5MT front diff shares fluid with the transmission. So for the rear diff, I think any 75w-90 GL5 fluid is fine. I'm running Amsoil synthetic 75w-90 in my rear diff right now, because I don't want to change it again for awhile.

Coolant - Subaru super coolant

Brake - I don't know much about brake fluid, so if I had to pick I'd stay with oem subaru.

Power Steering - Subaru ATF HP

Oil: Rotella T6

5 mt Trans Fluid: Subaru Extra-S......same as Subaru High Performance Trans fluid.

Diff: Subaru Extra-S

Coolant: Universal coolant from part stores, no need to waste money on Subaru brand here.

Brakes: Daily driving - standard fluid from part stores. Racing - Motul

PS: Dexron III or Dexron IV, any brand would work fine.

There's an oil thread in the stickys at the top of the 4th Gen forum.

My wagon has been on Peak Global and or Prestone coolant for many years.

Just did a search, found this.

I think I'll be putting that in the newly rebuilt 5mt in my wagon in April.

305,600miles 5/2012 ej257 short block, 8/2011 installed VF52 turbo, @20.8psi, 280whp, 300ftlbs. (SOLD).  CHECK your oil, these cars use it.
