LegacyCamper
Ive only ever owned subbie wagons, but this car looks hot for a sedan. Almost BMW like. The interior is that beige breathable leather seats and beige 2 tone with black top dash. Are they fun to drive, ie hug the road and have some grunt? Dispatch20
They are pretty nice cars. The 6 cylinder is a great engine that's very smooth and reliable. The 3.0R sedans are basically the top end sedan with all the nice features you'd typically get in the LL Bean wagons. One common issue is that they use the same raised suspension as the 05-09 Outback wagons. These are a little underdamped, and tend to give people some handling problems at times. The sedan should handle a little better due to the lower center of gravity, but it won't handle as well as a regular legacy sedan. Also, the 05 model did not have fold down back seats, so you get a small ski pass-trough. Overall, I'd recommend one. They are kind of rare, and that makes them really stand out. Cool vehicle! LegacyCamper
Thanks for that. Coming from a 250t wagon that has been lowered I might notice it. I can always lower the car relatively easily?
Dispatch20
You can lower it to stock Legacy height pretty easy with just struts. If you want to go lower, you have to do a bit more due to various differences in the outback suspension versus regular Legacy. There are some posts about this somewhere on the forum. LegacyCamper
I found another but it says B4, so not sure what the difference is?
Dispatch20
I found another but it says B4, so not sure what the difference is? The B4 is a completely different model from the previous generation of Legacy. It's a ton different than an 05 3.0R sedan.
Tehnation
There was a 3.0 in 05? The outback legacy?
Dispatch20
There was a 3.0 in 05? The outback legacy? In the US, the upgraded EZ30D (~250HP) came in the Outback wagon in the 3.0R LL Bean and 3.0R VDC models, and Outback 3.0R Sedan. http://www.cars101.com/subaru/outback/outback2005.html
Tehnation
I really don't get Subaru sometimes. lol, its like they couldn't make up their minds and the n decided to cross breed a legacy and outback. They are so similar why even have 2 different models, just adjust the name of the suspension package. Isn't that the only thing thats different? Maybe the bumpers? Dispatch20
Up until 2010 the outback was simply a jacked up Legacy wagon with body cladding and different bumpers. For some reason, people loved the outback. It practically saved Subaru.
