05 Legacy 3.0R Sedan, any good?

Recommended Posts

They are pretty nice cars. The 6 cylinder is a great engine that's very smooth and reliable. The 3.0R sedans are basically the top end sedan with all the nice features you'd typically get in the LL Bean wagons.

One common issue is that they use the same raised suspension as the 05-09 Outback wagons. These are a little underdamped, and tend to give people some handling problems at times. The sedan should handle a little better due to the lower center of gravity, but it won't handle as well as a regular legacy sedan. Also, the 05 model did not have fold down back seats, so you get a small ski pass-trough.

Overall, I'd recommend one. They are kind of rare, and that makes them really stand out. Cool vehicle!

You can lower it to stock Legacy height pretty easy with just struts. If you want to go lower, you have to do a bit more due to various differences in the outback suspension versus regular Legacy. There are some posts about this somewhere on the forum.

I really don't get Subaru sometimes. lol, its like they couldn't make up their minds and the n decided to cross breed a legacy and outback. They are so similar why even have 2 different models, just adjust the name of the suspension package. Isn't that the only thing thats different? Maybe the bumpers?
