OhNineGT
Hey guys, I'm working on my 2009 LGT LMT I have a pretty strong oil leak that APPEARS to be coming from the banjo bolt that is like 1/2 inch away from the bottom of the oil return hose coming from the turbo. I just wanted to see if this was a common issue with that banjo bolt or if there is something near that area that is a more common problem. Hopefully this makes sense.. Thanks in advance! Max Capacity
The half moon seals on the back of the heads could be a issue ? Have you just been playing around that area lately ? 305,600miles 5/2012 ej257 short block, 8/2011 installed VF52 turbo, @20.8psi, 280whp, 300ftlbs. (SOLD). CHECK your oil, these cars use it. OhNineGT
Please tell me you aren't referring to a head gasket... I reinstalled a new turbo but didnt touch that banjo... Most of the fresh oil is gathered on that. Thanks for the response! You seem to be all over it when I have questions and that is much much appreciated! FJuan
The half moons are part of the valve cover gaskets. Check all around the valve cover for any leaks. If no leaks, maybe the crush washers need to be replace on the banjo bolt. There has been several cases where the matting area on the bolt hole, where the banjo bolt goes in, are not smooth. I remember sanding down some of the uneven areas around the bolt hole to make it smooth so the crush wash mats up flat. My wife's balls are delicious. OhNineGT
There is a leak coming from the bottom side of the passenger side gasket. Was thinking it was a separate issue, but that would make sense!
