TTercel Posted January 24, 2016 Share Posted January 24, 2016 Hey all, I had a problem occur recently with my 2005 Legacy GT. What happened was, I entered on to a highway and I was doing about 4000rpm in third gear creeping into boost and the car shuttered and lost power. I had a CEL on already for my STi uppipe so not sure if another appeared, but when I got home a reset the computer and the CEL blinked at me for 10 seconds while a revved the car in neutral. Also for some odd reason the car is now showing the car has an empty tank of gas when I have a quarter tank left. The car is running rough and it sounds like it's running on three cylinders. No smoke and fluids are normal. The car has a catback and a STi uppipe. It is also protuned. Any suggestions? I will be reading the codes later tonight. TTercel Posted January 25, 2016 Author Share Posted January 25, 2016 Update: CEL was for a cylinder 3 misfire and I got the fuel gauge to work after another hard reset (disconnecting the battery). Time to dig into the ignition and fuel system. Yay! (insert sarcasm) BTW I know there are a lot of misfire threads and I've read a lot of them I just haven't read a scenario where it involved the fuel gauge as well.
