Surfcast23
The bushings on my 2006 GT are shot so I wanted to ask peoples opinion on whether I should upgrade the arms and bushings or just replace the bushings? The car has 134K miles on it and I plan on going stage 1 then 2 at some point.
wesleyCrowbar
I ended up buying the Mevotech aluminum LCA's instead of just replacing the bushings. The whole thing has to come out anyway. For me, this was easier (in a manner of speaking) than pressing out old bushings, putting in new ones, and still having old everything else on a ~10 year old car. wesleyCrowbar
http://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php?t=245333 Here's a thread with a bunch of info. I had to drill out the hole for the bolt that clamps the hub around the ball joint, but other than that it's relatively straightforward.
Max Capacity
Not needed. If you can have new bushing pressed into your arms just reuse them. It's not a race car. Put the money somewhere else in the car. 305,600miles 5/2012 ej257 short block, 8/2011 installed VF52 turbo, @20.8psi, 280whp, 300ftlbs. (SOLD). CHECK your oil, these cars use it. Broke the bolt or some fitment issue? Sent from my SM-G930P using Tapatalk
wesleyCrowbar
The pinch bolt (I think that's what it's called) wouldn't thread through both sides of the knuckle. As far as I know, I'm the only one to have that particular problem, but I also planned to replace that bolt with a new nut/bolt regardless.
