Ryany461
Hi all: I recently did a coolant flush on my 2011 subaru legacyou 3.6R. I used prestone coolant 50/50 mix. I wanted to know if this is OK or should I swap it again and use subaru super coolant. I know subaru recommends that but then again every manufacturer recommends their own brand. Any advice would be great. Thanks.
fedaykin
Should be fine, as long as you bled the system properly.
Ryany461
Hi thanks for the response and yes I did a complete flush. Drained all the original coolant ran water through it until it came out clear, filled it with water and a cleaner ran for ten minutes. Drained that out and refilled with new coolant. YeuEmMaiMai
use whatever color coolant the Subaru coolant was. Make SURE you mixed it for the weather in your area
NORULZleggy
You can use what ever you want to use. I use Amsoil coolant. You by no means have to run Subaru OEM stuff ever. Also your warranty will be fine. I have been doing it for years
ilover
Did you use distilled water in the process of dilution of the coolant system?
Thinking out side box
distilled water is not required with the Prestone, therefore would be a complete waste.
