brez0031
I am looking for used front struts for my 05. Ebay is suggesting there is a difference from a turbo to non turbo car. Does it matter? I'm looking into getting the whole strut assembly. thx

PeterJMC
You should try referencing the part number on a Subaru parts site. Do you have an 05 2.5 Turbo or non turbo? For example... STRUT COMPLETE-FRONT RIGHT . Part Number: 20310AG00A According to the fitment and application list for that part, non turbo and turbo cars along with various trim levels use the same part across a number of model years. http://parts.subaru.com/p/Subaru_2005_Legacy-25L-4AT-4WD-Limited-Wagon/STRUT-COMPLETE-FRONT-RIGHT/49229344/20310AG00A.html
Dispatch20
I think the Subaru OEM part numbers were different, but its not clear what the differences are (e.g. internal valving). Any struts from an 05-09 2.5i Legacy or GT will fit you fine. Just be aware that the wagon and sedan use different struts, and the Spec.B and 3.0R use a more expensive Bilstein setup. Very few people buy used struts because new replacements are pretty cheap. If you want a cheap replacement, KYB makes good struts that look and act just like OEM. Of course, you'd need to swap your springs and top hats over, which might be what you're trying to avoid by buying a used set/assembly. bluesuby
My LGT OEM struts were so soft it's hard to imagine anything softer. At a minimum I wanted KONIs to stiffen up the ride, especially on the rear.
Phate
My LGT OEM struts were so soft it's hard to imagine anything softer. At a minimum I wanted KONIs to stiffen up the ride, especially on the rear. Agreed, it's too soft for my tastes. A set of Bilstein HD's (not spec b struts) will absolutely solve this, especially at stock or near-stock ride height. It's hard to ignore the set of them in the FS section.
