Car shaking and knocking

I have two coil pack clips that are broken. They have been broken for three years - wrap a cable tie around them and cinch it snugly and there is no issue. Would be nice to get new connectors and splice them in... I have heard someone did find the housings and you can replace the existing pins/connectors over but still fiddly. Cable ties solve many things.

So I pulled this off and I was wondering if it looks like it needs to be replaced? And can I switch out the rubber boot for a better high performance one?
