SoFloSubie
Generally speaking I am a huge fan of low. I enjoy a good staced car, camber I cam take it or leave it. I never thought I would begin to go down the path where I am heading but I am happy http://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/12/09/994ecbc5f108821ecc24602d07d452da.jpg I started for the path of low. I bought coilovers to drop, got the wheels for the look and began the process. But soon I learned that the coils I bought needed a rebuild and I wasn't quite ready for that commitment, so I had to push that idea aside for now http://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/12/09/f939f7450aec7c0b2a5791a56a445401.jpghttp://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/12/09/eb7ec1a400dc40185ce68221a7cb9513.jpg The realization of offroad happened after a quick little trip with some buddies. I was super skeptical at first but enjoyed every second of it. I wanted more but still had aspirations of a lowered outback. http://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/12/09/69d3078936e6ce0a75245f9315a7b1cc.jpghttp://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/12/09/59ce010ad71b8bcb76dafc327ed482a5.jpg Unfortunately one of my XXRs cracked. Back to stocks and with a new set of "winter" tires, I began to realize that this outback was going from classy to nasty very quick, and I was happy about it. That's when I realized "I look too stock" and my ultimate roof rack build began. http://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/12/09/131807b416331c975e978dc907bb124a.jpghttp://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/12/09/2b87b67267c29882c9a77da2eb73e19d.jpg My base is an eBay no brand universal roof rack. I have read great things about these in comparison to the Thule and Moab baskets, and say that the build quality is very similar. I have no frame of reference to compare the two, but this rack is pretty awesome. http://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/12/09/3ec59024cde0a76f97aabdaf2ae47664.jpg This is an awful snapchat drawing of my goals for the rack, which will hopefully soon be completed. The rear currently has 2 6 inch 18W led lights. The sides will have 4 (2 each side) 4 inch 18W led Pod lights. And the front will have a 35 inch 180W led bar behind a Plexiglas Front Fairing. This thread is for progress for those that are interested in doing something like this, and for information on how to get it done. My wiring skills are not the best so sooner or later I will be seeking guidance. I hope everyone enjoys what I'm doing and if you thing something can be done better let me know, I'm very open to ideas. Thanks.
magnusonsubie
sub'd to see where this goes. Also DC wiring is the easiest thing in the world. Battery, fuse, switch, light, ground. 2005 Vader Wagon Material Tests on Ringland Failure Piston I should have held off and purchased a wagon instead of the spec.B
SoFloSubie
sub'd to see where this goes. Also DC wiring is the easiest thing in the world. Battery, fuse, switch, light, ground. It's more a matter of what size fuse an such, also don't know where I am going to put the wire in to, if I am going to cut a hole and use silicone or go down to the antenna and insert through there. Maybe even make a small cut in the base of the driver side front railing and insert though there.
SoFloSubie
4 inch LED Pods coming in on Monday. Curious to know if anybody has any suggestions on what gauge wire I should be running? Using Ohms Law I have calculated that I will need 2 x 10 amp fuses for the Pods and Back 6 inch lights and then a 20 amp fuse for the LED Light Bar.. thoughts?
