Andy_Mac
Anybody have this problem with their front sway? Sure I could just set it to the hard setting but wanted to try it on the softer one first. Untill the rear turns up. Or have i just potentially done something dumb as and installed it wrong? http://i1149.photobucket.com/albums/o594/andy_mac1/56EFDFC8-ACDA-46B9-99F0-0B3B5518D6F3_zps175ses1d.jpg http://i1149.photobucket.com/albums/o594/andy_mac1/704CFB6B-0EDF-4556-B75B-C4A89FFB49A9_zpsg59vf2uv.jpg 2000 Legacy B4 RSK - SOLD 2006 Legacy BP5 GT Spec B wagon - Garage Thread 2011 VW T5 van 2.0L of turbo diesel awesomeness
Andy_Mac
Tried moving the bar to the stiffer setting, initial gap made it appear like it might have worked, but knocking came back straight away when driven. Was also catching on the tie rod bolt when turning into the driveway which made a horrendous noise. At this point have just removed the bar and put the stocker back on until I get some form of opinion out of Whiteline. Another chap over in the liberty forum had the exact same issue shortly before me and has yet to find a solution either. All I can say is its a poorly designed bar, engineered to fit as many cars as possible to reduce costs. But in taking this approach Whiteline has ended up with a sub par product that fits absolutly shockingly compared to the stock item. 2000 Legacy B4 RSK - SOLD 2006 Legacy BP5 GT Spec B wagon - Garage Thread 2011 VW T5 van 2.0L of turbo diesel awesomeness
Underdog
Which part number bar is it? I have never had an issue with the Whiteline FSBs. The Crimson Dynamo
PeterJMC
What kind of endlink are you running? It looks like its adjustable in height. Sent from my LG-H811 using Tapatalk
Andy_Mac
Came as a kit, the kit PN was BSK014 http://www.whiteline.com.au/mobile_product_detail.php?part_number=BSK014&sq=22182 Have double checked all the parts in the kit against the suggested individual parts which all match up as far as i'm aware. Bar PN BSF30Z Endlink PN KLC139 Yea they are adjustable. Have cut the threaded 'bolt' part of the endlinks about 5-10mm shorter to get them to wind fully in, they're currently set at 60-65mm bolt centre to bolt centre. Have looked into a few solid ones but they don't actually seem to be any shorter than these ones. 2000 Legacy B4 RSK - SOLD 2006 Legacy BP5 GT Spec B wagon - Garage Thread 2011 VW T5 van 2.0L of turbo diesel awesomeness
Andy_Mac
Any idea what the shortest solid endlink on the market is? Could always give one a go and flick it on if it doesn't help. None of the ones i've been looking into give measurements. 2000 Legacy B4 RSK - SOLD 2006 Legacy BP5 GT Spec B wagon - Garage Thread 2011 VW T5 van 2.0L of turbo diesel awesomeness
Andy_Mac
Replacement bar has turned up. Most of the bends look slightly different, and the reach of it is slightly longer so have a good feeling about this bar. Will know for sure soon. http://i1149.photobucket.com/albums/o594/andy_mac1/6DC67473-A345-4E3C-BD68-3554CE6F42DC_zpsx4j1hcs9.jpg 2000 Legacy B4 RSK - SOLD 2006 Legacy BP5 GT Spec B wagon - Garage Thread 2011 VW T5 van 2.0L of turbo diesel awesomeness
BoyceWare
Andy_Mac, Any updates on this? I'm getting ready to order the same kit but am worried now that you had fitment issues. Did whiteline send you a different part number or was the one you received a defect?
Andy_Mac
Ah yea forgot to update this thread, there's the info copied over from my build thread. Never heard if it was a defect or just a product revision. Just the way the bolt holes were different sizes and the head shaped differently would lead me to think some sort of revision had been made. Or even a mislabelled bar, not confident of that though, seems to close to be designed for anything else. Ended up contacting Whiteline directly, showed them the same pictures I have here, who without hesitation sent a new bar out to me. New bar definately looks slightly different even though the part number is the same, guessing there has been a product revision at some point recently since even the bolt hole sizes are 1-2mm smaller with the new bar, along with a much longer reach, mildly different bend angles and different style lateral clamps. All in all, happy with this turnout, every company has their stuff ups from time to time and they've handled it well. http://i1149.photobucket.com/albums/o594/andy_mac1/C660E716-E9E4-4A1A-AA8C-47FADABDD6F2_zps7bh95dpb.jpg http://i1149.photobucket.com/albums/o594/andy_mac1/6DC67473-A345-4E3C-BD68-3554CE6F42DC_zpsx4j1hcs9.jpg 2000 Legacy B4 RSK - SOLD 2006 Legacy BP5 GT Spec B wagon - Garage Thread 2011 VW T5 van 2.0L of turbo diesel awesomeness
