urdrwho
I decided to take a peek at the plugs that came with the 2.2 transplant. They are NGK PFR5R and they seemed to be gapped at @ 40. A: Is that plug OK B: is the gap ok I've read some discussions where some people are in the 40 camp and others are in the 44 camp.
Osei
I don't see this particular plug as a choice on NGK's chart, but if you haven't been experiencing any ignition problems, don't worry. Each mfg has a gap recommendation for their plug. NGK suggests 44. But you can alter that as you see fit. The 40-44 is a range that is generally acceptable for our use in the EJ engines. As an aside I've been taken to use non resistor copper plugs to get as much spark as possible b4 I go to an MSD swap. O.
urdrwho
The NGK site shows it is a Mercedes plug or close. I don't remember seeing the dash 11 but it may have been there. Osei
plugs are cheap. Wouldn't hurt to change to one of the recommended units. O.
