slowurroll
Welp. Decided to get a log going so I can document my progress. It's going to be a bit slow but I've got some little things done so far already. Picked her up about a week and a half ago and this is how she was sittin http://i1084.photobucket.com/albums/j416/801tC/20150713_193447.jpeg http://i1084.photobucket.com/albums/j416/801tC/20150713_193442.jpeg Got kind of tired of the stock color wheels on the silver exterior so I decided to plasti dip them for now. Might remove it and paint them later. But we will see. http://i1084.photobucket.com/albums/j416/801tC/20150719_140849.jpg http://i1084.photobucket.com/albums/j416/801tC/20150719_140841.jpg http://i1084.photobucket.com/albums/j416/801tC/20150719_140835.jpg Also plasti dipped the grille and rear badges: http://i1084.photobucket.com/albums/j416/801tC/20150719_140345.jpg http://i1084.photobucket.com/albums/j416/801tC/20150718_161022.jpg Then I ordered some OPT 7 H7 LED lights for my low beams. Also ordered LEDs for pretty much every other light in the car minus fogs and high beams. I'll get a bigger pic of the lights when it's dark. I was also able to rotate the bulbs so the cut off looks better than what you see here. http://i1084.photobucket.com/albums/j416/801tC/20150718_180213.jpg http://i1084.photobucket.com/albums/j416/801tC/20150718_180612.jpeg Many more things to come! I will update the post as I go.
slowurroll
Slight update: Rotated the headlights so they have a better cut off http://i1084.photobucket.com/albums/j416/801tC/20150720_211250_1.jpg Also dipped the fog light surrounds http://i1084.photobucket.com/albums/j416/801tC/20150726_160726.jpg http://i1084.photobucket.com/albums/j416/801tC/20150726_165556.jpg Eventually I may remove the surrounds and grille and actually paint them instead if I end up keeping the grille. I want to do a JDM front and rear conversion so I may hold off on that for a while. Bought some Kicker 6-1/2" speakers for all 4 doors. Had to order some adapters for them to fit. Those should be here in the next couple days and go on this weekend.
GEE-OTTO
Which adapters did you order ive been thinking about upgrading the speakers in my 2.5i as well but was unsure of a good speaker choice/brand to use
slowurroll
Personally I love Kicker products. In my Scion tC I had two Kicker 10" subs, a Kicker amp, and Kicker speakers all the way around. I will likely have the same set up in the Legacy. Starting with speakers for now. Trying to decide which route I want to go for a stereo upgrade. Might go for the JDM swap so I can put in a double DIN. I got these adapters: Front: http://www.ebay.com/itm/331587281520?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT Rear: http://www.ebay.com/itm/221068572983?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT I tried searching through a couple other sites for them but eBay had the best deal and fastest shipping. Should be here today actually. Then I also ordered these to avoid having to splice wires together. Not that I can't. More of a time saver. But I may not use them if they aren't to my house by Saturday since I plan to install that day. http://www.ebay.com/itm/281425738494?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
slowurroll
Got the speakers in today. Only took pics of the driver side rear door since it's all relatively the same. http://i1084.photobucket.com/albums/j416/801tC/20150801_113423.jpg http://i1084.photobucket.com/albums/j416/801tC/20150801_113429.jpg One problem I noticed was with the front adapter I ordered. They don't allow the door panel to snap into place completely. It's only 1 clip near the speaker itself so it's not a major problem for now but will be something I address as soon as I get the time. Probably going to have to file them down slightly but we will see. Still, for the price those adapters were a good way to go.
