The Rza's 2015 WRX

Recommended Posts

After 6 good years, my 2009 2.5i sh*t the bed and was put in to a situation of buying a new car...fortunately this new car is a big upgrade from the 2.5i. I picked up a 2015 WRX limited in Ice Silver Metallic. So for I love this car and everything about it.

I don't have any plans/intentions to modify this car for power, stock it has plenty of bite and power, I've gone stage 1 along with a few supporting modifications to better the life of the engine on this car.

Modifications include:

30% tint

OLM 3000K LED fogs

OLM 6000k LED High Beam/DRL's

LED License Plate bulbs

Work Emotion CR KAI 17 x 8 Gun Metal wheels wrapped with the OEM Dunlop Sportmax tires (235/45/17) for summer

OEM wheels wrapped in General GMAX All Seasons for winter

Power:

Torque Solution Billet TGV Delete

Torque Solution Billet EGR Delete

Grimmspeed EBCS

Cobb Accessport w/ Protune from EFI Logics, 275 whp/310tq

Future plans include:

AIG Performance Air-Oil Separator

that's it for now, enjoying the hell out of this car!

My lighting upgrades came in this week. Installed them this morning before work. Later on today I'll get a good night shot with them. Big difference in color and getting rid of the halogens!

It's day and night difference from the previous gen, reminds me a lot of the 05-09 LGT. Handles nicely stock and you don't feel too many bumps in the road. Leather seats are nice and the MPG is pretty good, I get about 25 combined with a 60 mile daily commute.

much. It is about the same size as my 2009 Legacy was inside. The GR series WRX all the money was in the performance with a tacky interior. the 2015+ really is the complete package.

Nice, when I hear legacy GT replacement I still get excited even though I got rid of mine a few years back. I drive trucks now but the wife loved my LGT and I would like her to have something sporty so I can drive it when I am tired of driving a 20 foot long 5500lbs tank.

When they announced this car last year I knew it was what I wanted right away, just a matter of timing. I have almost 2000 miles on the clock now and coming up on doing my break-in oil change. looking forward to seeing what this car is capable of. Biggest complaint and after reading up a lot on clubwrx and other forums, is the 1-2 shift isn't the smoothest. I'm hoping that goes away with time too.

Josh if you're looking at this as a DD, don't go with the CVT. I test drove both and liked the 6MT better. Mine is my DD and I sit in Rt. 3 Traffic daily for work, plus when you get on the back roads you can have more fun :)

wife+baby = mandatory automatic trans

that is the compromise.

I would agree with the auto and baby. The baby will grow up quicker than you think. If I had the extra cash, I would have switched to a manual transmission when my daughter turned 3.

Ill still need 1 car with an automatic. I get my Manual trans kicks from my MX-5 which has better feel and action than anything subaru ever made.

this car is a Daily driver, there will be no hellaflush WRX  especially living in the northeast. Other than eventually doing an accessport I don't have plans to do other power or suspension modifications. Car drives awesome stock.
