I Donated Too luchadorjose Posted July 6, 2015 I Donated Too Share Posted July 6, 2015 So I removed my seat, then put it back in, a week after installing guages on my steering column. After doing this, my gauge cluster won't dim when I turn my headlights on, and navigation display won't go into night mode. My headlights still come on, and my audio/HVAC still lights up with the red illumination, but the stereo display doesn't dim. HELP
starionesir
Never tried it on the legacy but many cars if you turn the dimmer knob as bright as it will go then it will not dim when you turn the lights on. Something to check.
boxman
you might also want to verify that you didn't splice a power wire into the dimmer circuit during your gauge install.
I Donated Too luchadorjose Posted July 6, 2015 Author I Donated Too Share Posted July 6, 2015 I've played with the dimmer switch, definitely isn't an issue with that. The way I did my gauges was to use a piggyback fuse splice to two fuses in the cabin fuse box, I think off of 12V ACC. I didn't touch the gauge cluster, nav, or radio. The dimming worked fine after the gauge install, it stopped working after I removed and reinstalled the seat. I did have to push the steering column all the way in to get the seat out.
