LegacyMUN2k6
Are there any performace upgrades available for a 06 2.5i SE (Auto),Something cheap & simple performance to boost the stock HP from 175 to almost 200?
Xantium
ion's working on exhuast... cobb is working on engine management. until then work on the suspension, we got shafted compared to the gt's, they have bigger brakes, bigger sways in the front AND rear (so if you upgrade do both) and better struts (shocks..dampners, whatever) and lighter, bigger wheels. Not to mention a lighter hood... those are definatly some areas we can work to improve on. ps. im not sure if theres a pulley kit available for us yet, but if there is, im going to try and get that as soon as im going to work on the power. bpc8bpc8
lets see, I took the badges off the back end and cleared the front lights - probably cut down the weight by about 1/8 of a pound in plastic.
LegacyMUN2k6
At least with these tweaks, we've have saved a few grand buying a 2.5i over a gt and we only need to use octane
iON Performance
Xantium - FYI we have suspension specifically for the 2.5i sedan and wagon, 5MT and 4EAT as well
HansGT
At least with these tweaks, we've have saved a few grand buying a 2.5i over a gt and we only need to use octane 87 not to be a butt head, but your still out about 50-100hp depending on the cheap tweaks
mwiener2
a lightened pulley for a GT or XT should fit a 2.5i My Mods List (Updated 8/22/17) 2005 Outback FMT Running on Electrons
LegacyMUN2k6
I'd happy with 200HP, i really don't more than that. I'll take the saving in gas anyday over 50 to 100HP. We 2.5i guys just need 87octane GT guys can't use anything below 93octane
laz
I though it was 91 and up? But regardless the hood scoop ownz joo! ---
Xantium
it'll take a lot to get there for me.. i think im at 168 (lack of avcs).. exhaust+pulley+cobb should do it though... hopefully cobb will make some kind of kit so whatever kind of reflash they have planned will make full use of other mods (even if they're cobb's own). Im going to do suspension before the power though... our brakes are terrifying (to you lgt guys... our brakes are much worse than even yours) Fluid and pads (maybe lines) when i have the cash. BrownBoy
I'm doing suspension now, but I plan on doing pulleys (just need to install them, and will let everyone know how they worked out), headers/exhaust, and that cobb engine management if it ever comes out. I'll see where I'll be at that point, and decide if I want to go any further; honestly, I'll prolly end up trading in my 2.5i for a new or used GT once I am out of school and have a good, steady job. LegacyMUN2k6
You have to consider the pros and cons, and will it cost you more than buying outright a GT. For me i just want a little more.
iON Performance
LegacyMUN2k6 - 200hp is that crank/flywheel or bhp/whp? If you're serious about making that type of power (crank/flywheel hp), we've got a package that'll do that no problem Drop us a line if you're interested. We've got engine packages that'll support up to 235whp (~300crank hp)

BrownBoy
The 2.5i performs better than you guys give it credit for...DM took a ride in my Auto 2.5i, and he was surprised by it's performance...I was driving it hard, but still, he didn't expect what he got.
