Timining tensioner threads gone - now what

Recommended Posts

Everything was going well and it was the last idler to install. The threads are shot. Now what? Can I use a heli-coil or a good amount of JB weld into the hole and call it a day.

The engine is pushing 330,000 and this may be its last timing belt.

That is a bracket? I thought it was part of the block.

easy fix.

the tensioner bolts on to a bracket.

go to a pick n pull and get a used bracket.

90 - 97 are the same,

98+ are the same.

ej22 and ej25 are the same.

this is correct. only the tensioner is on a bracket. all the other timing idlers are on the block itself, and 1 is on the water pump
