SpecBmirin Posted May 22, 2015 Posted May 22, 2015 Hello everyone! Finally found my dream car down in Salem. Getting it inspected and if it passes I'll be the proud owner of an '07 Spec B. http://imgur.com/BdBLtwi http://imgur.com/ka001k0 http://imgur.com/CHanlnE I'm thinking first order of business is an after market grill. Anyone know of good places to get them in the Portland area?
mumblespec Posted May 22, 2015 Posted May 22, 2015 Mine was all diy shouldn't be too hard to go to lowes or home depot and pick up some mesh grating and dremel it to size.
SpecBmirin Posted May 22, 2015 Author Posted May 22, 2015 clean and most importantly....cheap! Good idea
b_holm Posted May 22, 2015 Posted May 22, 2015 mines a DIY on my 05 wagon don't have any pics on my computer though
SpecBmirin Posted May 22, 2015 Author Posted May 22, 2015 I like this look better to be honest. Anyone know where to find?
b_holm Posted May 22, 2015 Posted May 22, 2015 i can take pictures later. but there is a handful of ways to attach the mesh. the first one i made i had cut slits and tabs into the mesh. the tab went through slits and bent on the other side. and then i added a rubber seal type thing, not exactly sure what its actually called, i will post some pics of mine and you will know what I'm talking about. Ive also seen people cut the honey comb or mesh perfectly to where its fits tight enough with out anything.
mumblespec Posted May 22, 2015 Posted May 22, 2015 if thats the jdm one you're gonna just have to browse the members classifieds I know valley legacy always has jdm parts for sale.
mumblespec Posted May 22, 2015 Posted May 22, 2015 he's a member that hops back and forth between japan
mumblespec Posted May 22, 2015 Posted May 22, 2015 http://legacygt.com/forums/member.php?u=11898 Thats a link to his profile wouldn't hurt to send him a pm telling him what you're looking for.
magnusonsubie Posted May 22, 2015 Posted May 22, 2015 +1 to valleylegacy I bought my tail lights from him and will eventually have him help me out getting a facelift specB front end for my wagon. Super awesome guy 2005 Vader Wagon Material Tests on Ringland Failure Piston I should have held off and purchased a wagon instead of the spec.B
SpecBmirin Posted May 22, 2015 Author Posted May 22, 2015 Tried PM'ing him. Not sure if it went through though, not seeing the message in my sent items..oh well The overarching theme I'm hearing is to DIY it. Apparently you have to get quite a few other components for it to fit on the US version front end. Heard crown victoria grill might be the way to go with some elbow grease. http://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php/08-09-diy-lgt-sti-grill-119128.html
mumblespec Posted May 23, 2015 Posted May 23, 2015 Yeah I was trying to find that one last night to show you haha. I bought my jdm dbl din unit from him super solid super helpful
SpecBmirin Posted May 23, 2015 Author Posted May 23, 2015 Here's the list of Mods on the spec b I'm getting tomorrow (fingers crossed) Thoughts, concerns, opinions??? - Cobb SF intake - perrin tmic - invidia DP with high flow cat - HKS silent hi power exhaust - Walbro fuel pump - Perrin PSRS - Exedy clutch - Cobb Accessport v2
SpecBmirin Posted May 23, 2015 Author Posted May 23, 2015 Last time he had it dyno'd it was pushing +-270
mumblespec Posted May 23, 2015 Posted May 23, 2015 I am definitely concerned about that exhaust. It shouldnt be on that car it should be on mine haha. Just make sure he has all the paper work and stuff guessing he probably had it tuned at surgeline.

boxkita Posted May 29, 2015 Posted May 29, 2015 Cobb intake won't help. You need other mods before it becomes functional. Build my car Boxkita Track days
SpecBmirin Posted May 29, 2015 Author Posted May 29, 2015 Cobb intake won't help. You need other mods before it becomes functional. Can you elaborate on that?
Gex Posted May 30, 2015 Posted May 30, 2015 Intakes are relatively ineffective with the small stock turbo. The stock system is in effect a cold air intake. You won't really see any gains from an intake till you are making 325+hp at the wheels.
