I notice that the pins stayed in the auto transmission when I separated it from the old engine. It was the opposite when I had the manual out of my 2005. When I unwrapped the new short block it already has the dowels in it. I was wondering which ones to pull out. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Max Capacity Posted May 17, 2015 Share Posted May 17, 2015 Block Pull them out of the tranny,,,it really doesn't matter 305,600miles 5/2012 ej257 short block, 8/2011 installed VF52 turbo, @20.8psi, 280whp, 300ftlbs.
