xyzb
The car needs head gaskets but has 190k on it. I'm looking at a lower mileage engine/trans but they are from an Outback Legacy 2001-2005. Will they work in my car? The guy told me no problem but I just need to use my old intake on the newer engine. Both engines are 2.5 DOHC Any comments would be appreciated. Thanks! Max Capacity
I thought 3rd Gen GT's were single cams. I had a 98GT 2nd Gen and a 00GT, 3rd Gen. 305,600miles 5/2012 ej257 short block, 8/2011 installed VF52 turbo, @20.8psi, 280whp, 300ftlbs. (SOLD). CHECK your oil, these cars use it. Hitokiri_Gensai
All the us models were single cam engines but you could get turbo dohc engines in japan and other parts of the world.
SBT
1995-1999 2.5 Legacy is a DOHC. 2000+ 2.5 non-turbo is SOHC. And SUS is an Outback designation, not Legacy. And just an admin-keeping function. This forum is for members who are rebuilding their own engines. Moved to 2nd Gen Sub-forum where you'll likely get more info. Good luck with your project. - Pro amore Dei et patriam et populum -
