Jdemod
Are Outback XT's known to have issues with cv boots? I had my passenger side front cv boot changed about a month ago since it was torn and I have a warranty. I went to change my oil this morning and saw that the drivers side is torn now as well. I was just curious as to when other people have run into this issue? My car only has 64k miles on it and this failure seems premature to me. WRX USA
That seems odd given your relatively low miles. Are you the first owner? I also have an 09 OBXT and I live in Campbell with a couple hundred miles shy of 100K and I am on my originals.
Jdemod
Second owner. It was a lease car before (iirc) that I picked up with 54k miles in November.
Nightmaresmk
It's a common issue with the drive angel and age of the boots. It's normal to burn through the passenger inner boot after a couple years. Dry heat also doesn't help. I have swapped axles to reboot several times. not a huge issue.
Heffernan
I had both front boots replaced around 65-70k miles if I remember correctly.
Jdemod
I'll probably have the drivers side done some time this week.
