3D Printing Development Thread
Jdemod replied to discojon's topic in Fourth Generation Legacy (2005 - 2009)
Could be multiple issues really: 1. Looks like your first layer height is too high 2. Temperature can cause extrusion issues 3. Can bump up extrusion in your software settings. Sites like https://all3dp.com/2/under-extrusion-3d-printing-all-you-need-to-know/ tend to have good info on this. I cant speak to why your test print had different results unless it has specific g-code tied to it. Also, I would check if your test print was repeatable. (ie if something was jostled out of whack etc in between prints) What software/slicer are you using? -

I meant could I just turn it on its side and print it using the z axis for height? Anyone have the stl that I can take a look at? -

So, I was looking at the si switch a little more closely and don't see a great way to mount a cage on top of it. It looks like you would have to recreate the entire structure and take the switch apart in order to retain the mounting points that it uses. I could easily create a cage that sits on top but it would require some other mounting. Double sided tape in a recessed portion of the cage? Any ideas? -

Just the basics would probably be best. stl file should be fine. -

Well, designspark uses rsdoc. I think I can do obj and sketch up as well as stl too. -

Yeah, I discovered this forum right before I went out of the country for work. I just got back and had a chance to go through the posts. It would be great if you could send me the dimensions. Do you have details for the mounting bits as well? -

I have a 09' OBXT. I can look into designing something for this. let me take a look and grab some measurements off of mine. -

You'll love them off-road. I went over rocks, through mud and even a little snow with them and they worked great. -
Im sad that I never see any of you guys. I saw a black legacy gt about 6 months ago in saratoga but thats about it.

I took some pictures while I was in SoCal to document the height now so that I can update this in the future when I do the subtle solutions lift. Nice! I'll be visiting SoCal and will probably do the second round of flushing the trans while I'm there. ( I drained and filled last time I visited a couple months back). My little brother reported understandably poor gas mileage but it has apparently improved since the flush. The subtle solutions kit was the one I was planning to get actually. I'm a big fan of the general grabber tires on there but I think the car needs new sway bar bushings and an alignment. I'd like to weld up a bumper for it at some point and do lights but I don't make it down there often enough. I'm basically giving the car away to my brother when he can scrape together $1k but we have the understanding that I will still work on/ play with it when I visit. I'll try and take some clearance pictures while I'm in SoCal . -

Yup, pulled struts and hood off of a junker 1999 outback IIRC. I was actually pretty surprised how well it did off-road before I did any of this. Ive let my little brother drive it for the last year or so but I still have the itch to work on it every time I visit him in SoCal. I'll probably add a 1" lift to it one of these days. -

Similar direction but not quite as advanced: http://legacygt.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=2241&pictureid=10377 http://legacygt.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=2241&pictureid=10375 http://legacygt.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=2241&pictureid=10376 -
Not sure if my 1995 Legacy counts entirely but I figured it would be in good company here: http://legacygt.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=2241&pictureid=10376 http://legacygt.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=2241&pictureid=10375 http://legacygt.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=2241&pictureid=10377
