Old WRX/New 05LGT owner here

Hey guys I just picked up a clean used 05 LGT limited, 5 speed. The car has a catless downpipe and uppipe, stock exhaust and a drop in. I am assuming it has no engine management. Basing that on the lack of egt resistor mod and it had a few misfire codes, as well as O2 sensor codes upon purchase. I have cleaned the maf, put in a new filter, put a 2.2k ohm resister in the egt plug, and reset the ecu, thats it. The car runs fine and seems to pull very hard. My experience tuning is limited mostly 02-05 16 bit cars, mine were an 03 wrx stage 2 set up and my 05 wrx with a full jdm swap and rotated set up, both 16 bit usdm and jdm ecu's. I haven't tuned anything in a few years so I am rusty at best.

Am I correct that the LGT has a 32bit ecu? and how will this change things. My plans with this car is to leave it alone after a solid tune is done. I am working off my old laptop and a tactrix 1.3 cable with this. I have only been able to get romraider working, and not ecuflash, therefore I cant look at the rom file yet, but can do some logging. My question is, what parameters should I log to get a picture of what may or may not be tuned on this thing. Such as what kind of boost levels does this thing run stock, timing under full load at a given rpm, maybe and how the advance multiplier works on this ecu. As I said, I'm assuming there is no tuning done, the seller bought the car as is from a dealer who received it on trade. So, what was done or not is in the air. Any help you guys can give would be much appreciated.

What device are you using to read the ecu? Do you have the green test connectors hooked up?

Download the tune and compared it to a bone stock 05 LGT tune. With catless downpipe you need to make sure your wastegate duty cycle tables are tuned down, or to make sure your fuel and timing table is expanded for additional loads.

Thanks will do. So here's another silly question, where is the second green connector? Found one in a little bracket with a cover on it, but can't find its counterpart. Suggestions?

Thanks

Trey

You should leave alone the one under the small 'cover' on the driver side close to the fuse box, if it is the one you are referring to. When you upload a rom to the ecu, you only have to connect the green connector that is located under the carpet and glove box on the passenger side.
