05legacysp
So it's only November and it's already super cold and snowy here in good old Missouri. I'd like to be able to warm upy car without getting jacked. Who has some insight into the following: I'd like to be able to start car with the key, take the fob off.., keep the car running, lock the doors with the fob, go inside... Then unlock doors with fob and take off to work in a nice comfy warm car. Only problem is with the key in the ignition the fob doesn't work. Any thoughts on how to disable this lockout protection mechanism? Seems like it's as simple as finding out how the keyless entry system is aware the car is running and disabling that connection. Leviman
You could get a spare key cut, without the chip and then you can use that to lock/unlock.
05legacysp
Yeah I probably will... But I'm kind of looking for an excuse to mess with the car
apexi
It sounds like the dealer can change this setting with the subaru select monitor. After reading the owners manual, I'm still not sure if you can use the fob to lock/unlock the car though.
