Rebuilt Engine: Knock at Low Load

My engine rebuild was completed a few months ago and I am starting to tune the car. Last year I was having issues with my car knocking at low load and a leakdown found that two of my cylinders had cracked ringlands (http://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php/high-knock-low-loads-214195.html).

 

With the rebuild motor I am having some knock at low load during the start 3rd gear WOT runs. I am consistently getting knock events between 1800-2200 RPM's during these 3rd gear pulls. I know that at these low loads and RPM it shouldn't be a concern, but over the four years I have tuned the car I have never had issues with knock in this region.

Any ideas? I never had any low load knock with my old engine, until the ringlands went. Would a built motor be that much louder causing the knock sensor to hear phantom knock events?

I can't speak to your issue, but I recently found a loose metal bracket from the front O2 banging around in the issue, possible causing some false knock. You may want to double check the engine bay and for any loose heat shields.
