nice shiftknob

Check the interior/aesthetics forum, I know there are some shift knob pics there. The Subaru Momo knob (which is optional on GT's) is available at dealers for $84, or possibly a little cheaper on eBay. I have it, and I like it a lot. Others have said it gets too hot in the summer and cold in the winter, but I've parked my car in the sun when it was 100 degrees out, and it was fine. I haven't had it in winter yet, though.

Have you thought about installing a short-throw kit? It's a reasonably priced mod, and -- along with the Momo knob -- really improves the shifter feel, IMO.

The momo knob gets untouchable if you leave it out in the sun..and it's not even all metal. I have a cloth sunglasses case I put over mine when it's going to be left outside. It's really big too..and I have big hands. If I could get another one I think it would be smaller.

I also like the prova shift knob

I've been thinking about shift knobs too- I have the stocker as well as the Momo one and I'm bored with both- can we simply screw any shift knob on- are the threads the same on most shifters?

I'm in FL and the MOMO gets so hot, I feel like the guy from Raiders of the Lost Ark...

Thinking of just trading the MOMO for a stock?

Better yet, scans007, where did you get the impreza knob? Looks smaller than stock GT knob too...

Goin' to Carolina in my mind...and in my car on the 16th!

That's one of the main reasons I got rid of it.......To hot in the summer, too cold in the winter. The impreza knob for me was a great compromise, and it's weighted, just feels perfect.......Go to a junkyard, find and impreaza and pull it off for 5 bucks, or call subaru it's like 50 bucks new....so worth it....

it's shorter then the stock nob but the top width is the same, just a diff angle....I love the all leather, goes great with the boot........took me forever to find it, but we all have our own tastes and like diff feels.....I drove it on PLteks' car....fell in love with it and had to have it....end of story :D

Sorry if that sounded like a "loaded" question

What about those el cheapo Ebay knobs- will they simply screw on? What about holding the shift boot up?

There's several ways to hold the boot up....

Thanks man- I just remembered that on my WRX I used a plastic bottle cap with a hole cut in the middle under the boot to hold it up to the shifter with an aftermarket MOMO.
