samcuomo
I finally got my cam seals and timing belt kit today, but I stripped out my block and need to figure out what size/thread pitch the bolts are. I'e been searching for the last hour but I would like to just find out so I can go grab a helicoil kit before the store closes. Anyone know? MrTris
Out of morbid curiosity, how did you strip the block?
samcuomo
Honestly, I have no idea. I was putting the water pump on and tightening the bolts and I felt it go. But I wasn't even over tightening it. It just decided to strip.

samcuomo
I absolutely cannot find 6x1.25 helicoil kits anywhere. Are you guys sure it isn't 6x1?
MrTris
I absolutely cannot find 6x1.25 helicoil kits anywhere. Are you guys sure it isn't 6x1? Positive. Subaru only uses coarse thread bolts in like, five different places on the car, and they're not on critical or moving parts.
Usernames
This is the first result on Google when you search for Subaru water pump bolt size. I made an account just to correct the record (at least for an 03 Forester EJ25 SOHC). M6-1.0 x 40mm
