exoman
We own an 06' Legacy (Wisconsin) which my daughter drives. She complained about driving noise last week and I took the car to our local dealer. The prognosis on the noise is the rear wheel bearings are worn and need replacement and estimated at $645. On internet search, I learned Subaru increased warranty on rear wheel bearings to 100K miles or 8 years, whichever comes first. We have 98K miles, but I'm not sure if we purchased in summer 05' or 06'. We're under on miles but pretty sure we bought the car in 05' which means we are probably out of warranty on this. Is this worth fighting for with the dealer or SOA? Also, is this a job we should do with Subaru or better off with an independent repair shop for cost savings? exoman
Yes, however this post is only about the warranty issue on wheel bearings. I've received fantastic feedback on the other post and no problem deleting this one. Thx, Mark
